Visual Literacy and Effective Display of Quantitative Data

Visual Literacy and Effective Display of Quantitative Data seminar is a 90-minute event featuring three presentations and a Questions and Answers panel on topics that will explore quantitative representation and meaning. Thanks to Chris Jordan for Cans Seurat, a digital rendering that "depicts 106,000 aluminum cans, the number used in the US every thirty seconds." The seminar is sponsored by Smith College's Quantitative Learning Center and Educational Technology Services. The seminar program:

    • Google Analysis, a demonstration---Tom Laughner, director of Educational Technology Services
  • Meaning and Representation---Catherine McCune, director of QLC
